Let me tell you why!
Growing up I had always heard of all the opportunities involved with being a nurse. So many opportunites are involved under the realm of nursing it really makes nursing such an amazing career. Prior to even beginning nursing school I always told friends and family that travel nursing was something I had wanted to do.
In January 2018 I felt stuck in my career and wasn't completely happy with where I was with my life. I knew I needed to make a change and start challenging myself again. So I started to look into what my options were. I had came up with two major plans and decided I would go back to school and pursue becoming a nurse anesthetist. Well I had been out of school, at that point, for about seven months and when I began to start studying for the GRE I knew I wasn't ready for the sacrifice and commitment involved with obtaining my CRNA degree.
So my next option was to become a travel nurse. With my already huge passion for travel I saw this as a no brainer. The idea scared me as well as thrilled me. I had only lived in South Florida my whole life and my intuition was pulling me to jump right in. I had spoke to a recruiter Jessica G. for about an hour and a half when I first starting thinking about really pressuring travel nursing. She answered so many questions and was the person who sealed the deal that this is what I should do. I am so grateful to her that she came at the right time for me and really helped me set my eyes on the prize.
I decided I would wait for my two year mark working as a NICU RN and allow my lease to end. Over the next nine months I began lining all my ducks in a row. I found a storage unit.Started selling and letting go of things I no longer needed. Got moving assistance from my amazing brother and my beautiful friend Amber's husband to help move me out. It was hard to leave the amazing people I worked with. They are seriously a phenomenal team and I am so blessed I was able to work with them. They had sent me off with such an amazing turn out and with so much support!
The days leading up to leaving home were calming and reassuring. I got everything organized. Ran to my storage unit multiple times to put more away then what I was really going to need. I watched my car get placed onto the transport truck. It was only then I knew that this was it... My adventure and next life chapter was about to start.
