My Name is Cristina Ramirez and welcome to my site, Behind the Lens! 

Photography has always been an interest of mine growing up. You would never catch me without a point and shoot camera snapping away! I have been greatly influenced by a few of my family member's to peruse photography. However my Mom really fanned the flame! She handed down to me her old Nikon D-90, as a Christmas gift in 2014, as well as some knowledge & now here I am! One of my favorite things about photography is having the ability to catch a moment in life and being able to share and revisit it.

  Another passion I acquired, while growing up, was the appreciation for travel. I can thank my parents again for this! I learned that traveling is one of the most invaluable gifts that our life experience has to offer. I have traveled to four of the seven continents and many countries. I am humbled to be able to travel and have been so lucky to combine my passions of photography and travel for this site!

  My profession is working as a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Nurse. I became a Registered Nurse in early 2015. I had dreamed about becoming a nurse after hearing about travel nursing when I was in younger. It only made sense that this would be a beautiful career to follow and it would allow me to peruse my passion for travel!
