I had been really wanting my next travel nurse position to be in Seattle, WA but when an awesome opportunity comes knocking you can't turn it down!! The day after I had my recruiter apply me for the posting in Seattle another recruiter informed me of a day shift travel position needing in Napa, CA. It was an extremely awesome opportunity I knew if I didn't answer fast it would be gone so more or less after I spoke to the manager I accepted the posting! I mean really it doesn't get better then that!

The next step was finding housing. I would search for places in my downtime, on furnished finders, but nothing was really jumping out to me I was going to settle on a room I had found but decided to check the website one more time for a posting and lo and behold... There it was! A beautiful home that came included with a roomate (who at the time I hadn't known was super cool) and her cute fur baby named Sophie. I immediately made the call to see if the room was still available which thankfully it was so I did all that was required so I could snatched the room up as fast as I could. Haha!!

They say everything happens for a reason right?! The experience I have had so far here has been so great. My living situation, my job, and my roommate! It has been really nice living with someone my age! My roommate also works for one of the wine companies out here and has been so awesome in hooking me up with wine tastings I am honestly in awe having to pay nothing for tastings. I initially was worried I would become a wine snob from living here and I have learned it is quite the opposite. You are supposed to have fun with tastings. They say try something at least three times to open up your palette. At this point I can say I have had some amazingly delicious wine but I'll take what's given lol I have learned so much too the historic aspect of wine it is pretty awesome!

I am still in awe that some people dream about coming here there whole life and I can say that I got to live, work here, and live upon the wine makers.

Some of my favorite things that I did while in Napa (list in no particular order):

-Grgich Hills Estate- Where you can go to do a grape stomp, have a tasting, and get a fun shirt souvenir.

-Everything Calistoga haha! Especially the mud bath Nicole and I had haha!

- The food is great everywhere in Napa it is pricey but yummy! Also side note with such a huge turn over rate in restaurants ones that are still present have to be good to uphold to the competition. So have confidence that where you go to eat will be great!

-I loved the farmers market in Napa as well!

-Beringer & Sterling are worth a stop!

-Grizzly Creek Redwoods State Parks

-The Napa valley signs there are two of them the north one I think is a better spot you get some nice vineyard views behind the south sign has train tracks in it which is still cool! But I like the vineyards haha!
