I just want to start this post off with a big WOW for Lake Tahoe... I am so happy a friend of mine mentioned that I needed to check it out! Thank you for that! I hadn't known what to expect but all my expectations were blown out of the water! I want to say thank you to: Nancy, Akua, My mom, and Step dad (Jim) for celebrating my 29th birthday with me! I am so blessed that you all joined me!

Day 1- Nancy and I drove up from San Diego. We stopped and had lunch at Erick Schat's Bakkery. It was so yummy! I loved how they give you a cookie with your food purchase! We finished our drive pretty much just in time to check into the Airbnb and get ready for dinner. We had dinner at The Beacon Bar & Grill and watched the sunset over the lake. It was a perfect way to celebrate my birthday!

Day 2- We got up early and had breakfast at Alpina Cafe. Our main plan of the day was to go snowboarding at Sqaw Valley! When I initially looked at the lift pass was $79 but a few days before we left they were running a fundraiser so it only cost us $5 for day! It was so fun! I was in awe that we were snow boarding in June! On the way back, to South Lake Tahoe from Sqaw Valley, we made some random stops that were really scenic. We saw Eagle Falls at Lake Tahoe Basin. Really impressive and big water fall that pours into Emerald Bay! We ate dinner at California Burger Co for early dinner. Then top top off the lovely day we chilled the rest of the night and had some yummy Prosecco.

Day 3- Our main plan for this day was to go Paddle boarding. We rented from Sup Board Rental. Which was located in Sand harbor. Tip: Go ASAP in am parking fills fast! We chose the half day rental. I had been wanting to paddle to Bonsai Rock but ended up at Secret Cove. Which I hadn't known was a nudest beach haha. It was really a cool experience to be on the Lake and see the beauty all around! The water is out of this world clear and clean. We got sushi at Naked Fish for a super late lunch (really yummy sushi!). We went back to the Airbnb to relax then met with my Mom and Jim at Azul Latin Kitchen (yummy Mexican/Latin food) for dinner. After dinner we went and watched the sunset at Nevada beach.

Day 4- We took time waking up. Girls got coffee at Revive Coffee and Wine Shop. We hiked Rubicon Point Light Lighthouse Trail it’s an easy and scenic 2.2 mile hike. We adventured a little bit and walked a little more on the Rubicon trail. Then we hiked Vikingsholm Trail after. This trail is 1.7 miles long. It wasn’t bad but going down it can be slippery from the gravel so be careful and going up was a kick butt workout cause its a steep incline. I would recommend doing it. It’s pretty on the way down by Emerald Bay. You also get to see eagle falls turn into Emerald Lake and Lake Tahoe. After we went to Hangar for a flight of beer. I loved it! It was a cool little dog/family friendly spot with a great view! We got dinner at Mac Duffs (really good Scottish food!) Comfort food at its finest. After dinner we said goodbye to my mom and Step dad because we were leaving the next day. Day 5- We woke up early to catch the sunrise over Emerald Bay. Which was absolutely amazing! We all took nap, packed then headed out. We got lunch again at Schats Bakkery in Bishop, CA.

Reminiscing about Lake Tahoe makes me want to book another trip out there haha!

In planning this trip I referred to this blog post. It was extremely helpful so that's why I am sharing. =]
