My first adventure to Hawaii was not a disappointing one to say the least! My friend Nancy and I decided that we would take advantage of Presidents Day's long weekend and go to Kauai! We made it into an amazing galentines girls trip! At the time that we were going to head out there there was some crazy monsoon weather going on! If you hadn't heard there had been ice on the top of the big island and lots of rain. It was pretty crazy! We had departed from San Diego but had to fly to Sacramento (to refuel) because if we would have gone straight from San Diego "we wouldn't have made it" on the fuel we had. There was quite a bit of turbulence too when we took off from Sacramento and I kept thinking god just let me make it to Hawaii.

Due to the weather we had a lot of excursions cancel but everything happens for a reason and we were still able to do the most amazing excursion... We had booked an open door helicopter tour. It was seriously the coolest thing I have ever done obviously after skydiving! The views in Kauai were phenomenal! We booked our tour with Jack Harter Helicopter tours. We got to see the crater which sometimes is covered with fog but this day it was perfect and clear out. We also booked a tour with Kauai ATV because we wanted to get dirty and boy oh boy dirty is what we got!! My rash guard is still stained but it is a great memory every time I put it back on.

When we arrived to Kauai we had found out that UB-40 would be playing a concert with an opener called Katchafire. Both amazing and really well known performers if you don't know who UB-40 is they sing the infamous Red red wine song =]. Obviously we booked our tickets immediately. It was amazing! It was so much fun to dance to their awesome songs from these amazing musicians.

I am having so much fun reminiscing on this trip! Haha!

Kauai is seriously unreal when it comes to its breathtaking beauty I kept thinking this place can't be real!? I highly advise anyone to visit here. The people were friendly, nature is never-ending, and the food was out of this world. I can't wait to visit again! Hopefully sooner than later!

Mahalo!
